Conflict of Interest Disclosure Statements

The following staff and Panel members have reported the following regarding payment from pharmaceutical companies from January 2002 to the present. Please see the Conflict of Interest Contract for more information.

  • John Oldham, MD declares that he has served as a consultant and has received honoraria from Lilly Research Laboratories in regards to the design of a planned clinical trial prior to May 2004. It is Dr. Oldham’s understanding that the trial was never implemented.
  • Gary L. Kreps, PhD declares that he was honored as a Pfizer Visiting Professor of Clear Health Communication and received honoraria from Pfizer Corporation for services on a speakers bureau.
  • John W. Williams Jr., MD declares that he has served as a consultant for the Zitter Group/GlaxoSmithKline and Weyth Ayerst regarding the product Venlafaxine. As part of his work with the Foundation for Informed Medical Decision Making (FIMDM), a non-profit group that seeks to improve patient care through developing unbiased health decision aids, Dr. Williams terminated any work with industry as of mid 2004.
  • Cathy L. Melvin, PhD, MPH, Timothy S. Carey, MD, MPH , Leah M. Ranney, PhD, MA, Erin K. McClain, MA, MPH, W. Douglas Evans, PhD, and Thomas Linden, MD declare they have not worked for any pharmaceutical companies since 2002. Pfizer has provided no support for their research and other professional activities from January 2002 to the present. They have not participated in work for Pfizer that involved antiepileptic drugs and done no work involving antiepileptic drugs for any other pharmaceutical companies.
